Futures Map

Our strategic plan for the next chapter of AISC, shaped by what we value, what we carry forward, and the kind of learning community we are building together.

The Futures Map 2026–2030 gives our community a common language for the future while leaving room for thoughtful annual choices, emerging needs, and the realities of a changing world.

What We Choose to Carry

Our values, our contributions, our care is what defines AISC.
What We Choose to Carry is a cinematic and authentic representation of who we are as a learning community and what we believe matters as we look ahead.

From Identity to Direction

If What We Choose to Carry expresses the spirit of AISC, the Futures Map gives that spirit direction. It translates shared values, learner growth, and community experience into a framework for what we will prioritize, protect, and grow from 2026 to 2030.

What is the Futures Map?

The Futures Map 2026–2030 is AISC’s shared strategic guide for the next four years.

It helps us connect long-range direction to the daily life of the School. Rather than acting as a static list of initiatives, the Futures Map gives us a way to stay oriented around what matters most: the kind of learners we want to nurture, the kind of community we want to be, and the experiences we want every student to have at AISC.

The Map holds these pieces together in a single framework. It keeps strategy connected to student growth, community experience, and the choices we make each year as a school.

Strategic Priorities for 2026–2030

This explainer introduces the structure of the Futures Map and shows how the Vision for an AISC Learner attributes, the Core, the Compass of Impact, and annual strategic choices connect.

The Compass of Impact: Learners at the Center

This is how we bring the Futures Map to life every day. It is designed as a two-sided compass: one side is Transformative Learning, and the other side is AISC Experience. The Vision for an AISC Learner sits at the center.

This is intentional. The Map begins with the qualities and dispositions we believe matter most in a thriving learning community now and in the future. These attributes describe the kind of learning we hope to nurture in students through Transformative Learning, and reflect the mindset and habits that adults bring to the work of building the AISC Experience every day.

At AISC, we are all learners. Students, faculty, staff, and families each play a part in shaping a community that is curious, reflective, purposeful, and responsive to the world around us. By placing the Vision for a Learner at the center, the Compass of Impact reminds us that strategic direction is about people and growth. It helps ensure that our decisions about learning, culture, systems, and priorities stay connected to the kind of community we are.

How the Compass of Impact Works

The Transformative Learning compass reflects the experiences, practices, and conditions that help learners grow with challenge, agency, reflection, and purpose.

The AISC Experience compass reflects the relationships, systems, environments, and shared experiences that shape daily life and make meaningful learning possible.

Together, they help us see the whole school clearly.

The Futures Map sets direction through 2030. Each year, AISC identifies the strategic choices that matter most in that moment, keeping the work focused, responsive, and connected to the needs of the school.
