The American International School of Chennai offers a robust course catalogue from which students can choose courses to best meet their individual interests and needs. Grade 9 and 10 students complete a core curriculum along with elective courses. Grade 11 and 12 students build the program that best suits their career and university aspirations including choices in advance coursework from both the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs as well as an array of online and independently driven options. All students can augment their educational program with career practicums during school vacations.

Students can further personalize their academic program by engaging in a passion project, designing their own academic course, opting for an online course from a partner provider (K-12 International, Global Online Academy & Pamoja) or participating in one of our Career Practicum Programs.
Monthly AISC recognizes a student in each grade level for their academic achievement through the lens of an attribute of the Vision for an AISC Learner. Twice per year a student in each grade level is recognized in each of the academic disciplines for academic excellence as well as exemplifying the attributes defined in the Vision. Finally, once per year, a student in each grade level for our “Mission Honors” that recognize courage, confidence, compassion, creativity and international mindedness.
AISC students head around the globe to pursue higher education. Some students choose to repatriate to universities in their home country but many AISC students choose to stay “international” and matriculate to universities overseas.
