Hilary
An Apple Distinguished Educator, Ms. Hilary was
chosen as one of the top 45 Apple Distinguished
Educators in her cohort. Although presenting a
showcase in front of 300 people in 3 minutes was very
challenging, and she is not sure she ever wants to do that
again! She holds two Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education
and Curriculum and Instruction, as well as, a Middle School Math
Endorsement. Here at AISC, Hilary is the curriculum coordinator.

Lakshmi
Ms. Lakshmi Jayakumar is an Early Years
Teaching Assistant here at AISC. Lakshmi grew up
in Kodaikanal where she completed her schooling
and bachelor degree. A life long learner, Lakshmi is
currently completing her Phd in English on the topic
"Denial of Self: A study with special reference to the work
of selected diasporic women writers". Lakshmi has worked
as a middle school teacher for 5 years before becoming a
teacher assistant at AISC.

Preethi
As well as being a selfproclaimed poet,
Ms. Preethi is proud of being able to encourage
and help someone on their path to achieve what
they set out to do. She is excited to be teaching
Indian Studies. Preethi comes from a wonderful family who
taught her that life is full of tiny miracles. She is an Engineer by
qualification, but decided to give in to her desires to become an
educator.

Mr. Scott
Mr. Scott Stier is a 3rd grade teacher and is
originally from Michigan. Previously he worked
in Bangkok as a 4th grade teacher where he met his
wife, Tawan and they are blessed with a daughter, Oceana.
He is interested in traveling, photography and making videos.
He plays the guitar, banjo, ukulele, and harmonica.

Ms. Deepa
Ms. Deepa has wanted to be a teacher
since her first day of pre-school. She has
been with AISC for over 10 years and, she is
`
currently a Grade 2 Teacher . She says,"This is my
dream job!" She loves the buzz of students engaged
in personalizing their learning. She says that children often
leave a positive impact on her, which makes her proud.

Mr. Jack
Mr. Jack Bissonnette loves teaching kids how
to work
together to solve problems, come up with
collaborative plans, and have fun with one another.
Mr. Jack loves to
go snowboarding any opportunity
that he gets.

Ms Preethika
Ms. Preethika is passionate about
teaching and interacting with young
children through games and class routines.
She lived in Singapore for 14 years and taught
in an International school for elementary students.
She has a son and her interests include music, arts &
crafts and cooking different cuisines.

Mr. Ross
Mr. Ross Connelly is a Grade 4 Teacher here
at AISC. Ross loves engaging students in big
conversations and asking them deep questions. He
can speak French and wishes he knew more languages.
When Ross is not teaching, he likes to jog and has recently
started making homemade ice cream. Before teaching, he
served in West Africa with the Peace Corps where he slept many
nights in a mud hut.

Ms. Hazel
Ms. Hazel Bangera is the Elementary
Administrative Assistant. Hazel loves
working at AISC as she enjoys the global
atmosphere in the school and also loves interacting
with the students. Hazel was born in Chennai and went
to school and college here. Apart from Chennai, she has
also lived and worked in Dubai for 12 years.

Ms. Linda
Ms. Linda Gerberich started her career
as a Peace Corps
Volunteer. She served in
the Philippines and
worked with teens who
could not afford to go
to school. Linda has been
a school counselor for
over 25 years in both inter-
national and US public
schools. Before AISC, she came
from working at an
international school in Helsinki, Finland.
She loves that
she gets to work with and know so many students,
parents
and teachers.

Jayasri
Ms. Jayasri Santosh, an Early
Years 3 teacher at AISC, is immensely
proud of having played a role in the growth
and development of numerous young learners
over the last 24 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree
in science, and for her teacher training in Early Childhood
Learning, she went to the Association Montessori Internationale
(AMI), headquartered in the Netherlands.

Ula
Ms. Ula Konczweska was born in
Gorzow Wielkopolski, a medium-sized
city in Poland. She left her hometown at
the age of eighteen, and moved to the United
States to pursue a college education. Ula has earned
a few degrees in various subjects, including Political Science
and Instructional Technology. Ultimately, she fell in love with
teaching and earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.

Ms. Bindu
Born and raised in Chennai,
Ms. Bindu teaches Early Years 5 in
the Elementary School. Dancing and
music are her primary interests, and she
learned Bharatnatyam for eight years. Interest
in music kindled her love for languages, and she
speaks English, Tamil and Hindi fluently as well as a
little bit of French. Bindu is also very passionate about
inner transformation. She been practicing Heartfulness
meditation for over 12 years and is a certified trainer.

Mr. Clinton
"Clinton Franswah, a self-taught
artist, believes that art has always
inspired him and helped him to express
himself more confidently and creatively. Clinton
is our Elementary School Art Teaching Assistant.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business
Administration, and worked in IT and financial companies
for ten years before coming to AISC.

Ms. Hema
Ms. Hema is our Elementary Food Service
Coordinator, and you can find her every day
in the Elementary Cafeteria. She is from Chennai,
and she has one son who is attending college, and
she loves reading and listening to music. Encouraging
students at AISC to explore healthy choices with food makes
her happy. She loves it when students tell her how much they
like their meals. She also has a passion for mathematics.

Ms. Amritha’s
Amritha’s job as Speech and Language
Pathologist allows her to do 2 things that
she loves - teaching, and working with kids.
The broad smiles children break out into when
they realize that they are being successful is priceless.
Amritha loves traveling and has recently developed a liking
towards photography! One of her favorite ways to unwind is
to untangle things like Christmas lights and yarn. She is the oldest
of 3 children; her Dad is a Plastic Surgeon and her Mom an English
teacher.

Lucy
Ms. Lucy Palmquist has been a
special educator, working with
students of varying ages with a range
of needs, since 2011. She appreciates
helping students find success by tapping into
their emotions, curiosity, and passion for learning.
