AISC has two libraries. One is for elementary and middle school, the ES/MS library, and another is for high school, the HS library. The AISC libraries develop students’ information literacy skills, provide resources to enrich and support the curriculum, and promote pleasure reading. Be it students in our Early Years program enjoying fun characters in their favorite books or high school AP/IB students conducting research through online databases, our libraries have something for everybody...so stop on in!
Our Library Mission states, "We collaborate with and empower students and staff to transform curiosity, creativity, and compassion into ideas or artifacts with personal, social, or global significance." We believe in the power of collaboration among faculty and students as part of the learning process. We also believe inquiry is essential to discovery and authentic learning. For this reason, we provide resources that appeal to a variety of interests, reading levels, and backgrounds, as well as services that fully support student learning.
With numerous electronic resources and a collection of over 55,000 books, the libraries have a variety of resources appealing to a wide range of interests and reading levels. We have many great books - both print and digital, fiction and nonfiction, as well as books for pleasure reading and curricular needs. To support a love of reading and learning in any language, we also carry books in many different languages, such as French, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.
We are open every school day, before and after school, as well as during breaks and lunch. Each day we look forward to working with our students as we explore the fantastic world of learning. We love discovering what the wonderful world of reading and information literacy has to offer!
