AISC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mr. Sriram Sivaram
Sriram returned to Chennai in 2006 and is the President of Madras Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd (MEI), a tier one auto component manufacturer. Prior to this, Sriram had worked with US based multinational companies in the power quality and energy sector where he has held various key management positions. Sriram holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and an MS and MBA from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Sriram has been an AISC parent and community member since 2006.
His wife, Priya, and he have two children, Vishnu (AISC Class of 2018) and Vinay (AISC Class of 2020).
Mr. Edward Burleson
Ed arrived in Chennai in the summer of 2018 to be the Management Officer (Administrative Director) at the U.S. Consulate General. During these 10 years working for the U.S. Department of State, he has been posted to Manila, Tokyo, Washington D.C., Kabul, and The Hague. Previously, Ed taught English in Japanese public middle schools, taught mathematics in a public middle school in Houston, Texas, and also worked as an instructional designer to create online compliance training courses. He has a BS from the University of Houston and an MA from the University of New Mexico.
A native of Houston, Texas, Ed is here with his wife Namiko, who is originally from Japan. Their two daughters currently attend Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Ms. Kami Viswanathan
Kami is the Founder of work4.0 capital, a cross-border investment firm focused on the future of learning and work. She was co-founder and co-CEO of Lumina Datamatics, a leading provider of educational content and technology solutions to the US and European markets with over 3000 employees across 7 locations in the US, Germany, Bosnia and India. Prior to co-founding Lumina, Kami headed Mergers & Acquisitions at OfficeTiger and worked with Arthur Andersen’s business advisory practice. Kami holds a BA, LLB (Hons.) degree from the National Law School of India, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
She has a son, Tejas in Grade 11 at AISC.
Mr. Leif Waller
Leif Waller arrived in India the summer of 2019 as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai. He has worked for the U.S. Department of State since 2014, serving previously in China and Canada. Prior to that, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Bangladesh and Mongolia. Leif holds a bachelor's degree in International Relations from USC, and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Business.
His wife, Batgerel Waller, and he have two children,Tsenguun (Grade 10) and Enkhlen (Grade 3) at AISC.
Mr. Michael Roberson
Michael relocated to India in May 2010 as the Vice President Sales and Marketing for AVT McCormick. He co-founded Provision Value Gard where he is currently the Managing Director. He also established Aspera Logistics, overseeing the business as the CEO. Michael earned his master’s degree from Trinity Western University in Administrative Leadership, in Vancouver, Canada.
His wife, Shabri, and he have three children, Rohan (Grade 11), Adesh (Grade 9), and Kairav (Grade 5) at AISC.
Mr. Namhee Park
Namhee arrived at Chennai in fall 2017. He is the vice president of Samsung Electronics in India in the southern area. He has around 25 years of Consumer Electronics experience in Sales and Marketing. He has had a lot of global business with many countries like US, Canada, Mexico, Greece and countries in Africa. He has a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Seoul City University.
His wife, Miyoung, and he have two children, Byeongwoo and Byeongchan (Grade 12) at AISC.
Mr. Ravishankar Pillai
Ravi is the Senior Vice-President of Operations and a partner at ZoomRx, a market research consultancy focused on Life Sciences. He has served in this role since the inception of the firm - first from Boston and, since 2018, from Chennai. Earlier in his career, Ravi co-founded a Palo Alto-based computer network security firm, which eventually went through a successful acquisition. Originally a Chennaiite, Ravi has a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Madras and an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
His wife, Lavanya, and he have a daughter, Shrinidhi (Kindergarten) at AISC.
Ms. Shanthi Giridhar
Shanthi returned to Chennai in January 2013. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Madras. Shanthi has worked with Ernst & Young for 7 years in various countries. Prior to that she was the Deputy Manager with one of the biggest oil corporations in India for six years. Currently, as an independent financial advisor, she manages a USD 5 million portfolio and is the trustee of three non-profit/charitable institutions in India.
Her husband, Giri, and she have two children, Prahalad (AISC Class of 2020) and Amrita (Grade 9) at AISC.
Ms. Varna Ramaswamy
Varna returned to India in July 2015. Since arriving, she has been an active community member on the numerous PCA committees, a Grade Coordinator, on the Council of Advisors for the Board, and the Environmental Responsibility Task Force. In the past she has focused on community building at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, served on the Boards of the Monterey Public Library, and the Friends of the Monterey Public Library. Previous to that she was the Outreach Coordinator at the Vermont Tourism Data Center and a staff member in the Dean’s Office of the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont. She has also worked for the TVA and the US Forest Service.
Varna has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Education from St. Lawrence University, Master’s of Science in Recreation Management from Purdue University, and a Master’s of Science in Natural Resources Planning from the University of Vermont.
She and her husband, Sunder have one child, Srivatsan (Grade 12) at AISC.
