Accreditation is an indication that the school meets the standards of external organizations and is a significant measure of quality. Internationally recognized accreditation agencies like the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) ensure ongoing school improvement through periodic self-study processes, and guarantee that external entities, like colleges and universities throughout the world, recognize the quality of our students, faculty, programs, and systems.
In 2004, the American International School Chennai (AISC) became fully accredited international school by the CIS and MSA. Since 2007, AISC has been authorized by the IBO to offer the Diploma Program. In 2020-2021, AISC was granted a 5-year re-accreditation without stipulations and a 10-year re-accreditation without stipulations by the CIS and MSA, respectively. In August 2017, AISC became the first K-12 school in the world to achieve LEED Gold status using the ARC Platform.
