Activities & Clubs

Our students engage in various club activities throughout the year. Learn more about these clubs below.

The mission of AISC’s Arts, Sports and Activities (ASA) Program is to promote creativity, confidence, and positive relationships through an array of learning experiences.

The Arts, Sports and Activities (ASA) program offerings cater to students’ interests and provide families the opportunity to choose from a menu of activities to participate in outside of school hours. Throughout the year, the ASA program adjusts offerings and instruction by allowing students to re-register in quarterly seasons. New ASAs are added every season! At the end of each ASA season, parents and community members are invited to attend the ASA Showcase. The ASA Showcase is an opportunity for students to display their learning and development from the program to their parents and the AISC community. By prioritizing student interest, family involvement, and student wellbeing, the ASA program strives to promote creativity, confidence, and positive relationships through an array of learning experiences. ASA’s are split into 4 seasons and each season will be 8 week long. Check our ASA page for more details.

The seasonal Arts, Sports and Activities enhance a child’s growth by providing a fun-filled program that integrates progressive education and values with arts, sports, and recreation in a compassionate, caring, and creative environment.

Fun and skill-building are fundamental to camps at AISC. Summer Camp is a two-week program and the rest are all one week programs held for Elementary & Middle School students. A wide variety of age appropriate activities like sports, arts, and crafts classes are offered.

We believe that children learn best by being actively involved in the learning process and by connecting what they learn in school to their experiences outside of school. Teachers use a variety of grouping strategies that allow them to draw from students' strengths and provide reinforcement to expand a child's abilities. They respect each child's uniqueness and provide a nurturing environment that fosters empathy, tolerance, acceptance and respect for all.

The JumpStart program introduces new students to AISC through a variety of interactive activities to explore new ideas, be creative, build confidence, and make new friends.

In order to give new students a greater chance to experience school, meet AISC students, learn school routines, experience and enjoy the campus, American International School Chennai  (AISC) offers a 1 week-long camp during the month of January and a 2 week camp during the month of July which includes extracurricular activities, academic games and basic introduction to school. The JumpStart Program helps new AISC students acclimate to school routines while meeting existing AISC students.

JumpStart is for any new KG to Grade 8 student. This program is staffed by AISC teachers, teaching assistants and ASA Instructors. Enrollment is free to all participants. Many activities occur in conjunction with fee-based programs that include students that are not new to AISC.

JumpStart programs are generally organized by grade level: KG, Grade 1 and 2 are together; Grades 3 through 5 are together, and Grades 6 through 8 are together. It is structured around a variety of classroom and other co-curricular activities. Students get an opportunity to meet new friends, experience school regardless of the activity or language clusters they may form.
